1. Accessibility Standards We Follow
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.2 is the current internationally recognized standard for web accessibility and builds on previous versions to address a broader range of user needs.
Our accessibility efforts are also guided by:
- The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) — which requires places of public accommodation, including websites, to be accessible to people with disabilities
- Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act — federal standards for accessible electronic and information technology
- WAI-ARIA 1.2 (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) — technical specification for making dynamic web content accessible to assistive technologies
Accessibility is a core service we offer to our clients. We hold ourselves to the same standards we deliver for the businesses we serve. If you find any area of our site falling short, we want to know about it immediately.
2. Measures We Take
To ensure ongoing accessibility, Litespeed Construction Asheville takes the following measures:
- Include accessibility as a requirement in all website design and development work
- Conduct accessibility reviews when significant content or design updates are made
- Use automated accessibility scanning tools as part of our review process
- Maintain a minimum font size of 12pt across all pages and graphics
- Ensure all color combinations meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Provide text alternatives for all non-text content
- Maintain a logical, consistent heading structure across all pages
- Ensure all forms include proper labels and error identification
- Test key pages with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation
3. Screen Reader and Keyboard Navigation
Screen Reader Optimization
Our website implements ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attributes to ensure that users visiting with screen readers can navigate, understand, and interact with all content. Specific measures include:
- Accurate form labels and field descriptions for all input elements
- Descriptive alt text for images, including AI-assisted object recognition for images without manual alt text
- OCR-based text extraction for text embedded within images
- Defined element roles (buttons, menus, modal dialogs, navigation landmarks)
- Automatic screen reader mode announcement when a screen reader is detected
- Manual activation available at any time via the Alt+1 keyboard shortcut
Screen reader compatibility has been tested with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack.
Keyboard Navigation Optimization
All interactive elements on our Site can be accessed and operated using a keyboard alone. This includes:
- Full Tab and Shift+Tab navigation through all interactive elements
- Arrow key navigation within dropdown menus and grouped controls
- Escape key closes open menus, modals, and popups
- Enter key activates buttons and links
- Spacebar and Enter key for radio buttons and checkboxes
- Keyboard focus is managed for popups and modal dialogs — focus does not drift outside
- Content-skip menus available via Alt+2 or as the first focusable element on the page
Quick navigation shortcuts: M (menus), H (headings), F (forms), B (buttons), G (graphics).

If you experience issues with a specific browser or assistive technology combination not listed above, please let us know using the contact information in Section 8.
7. Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance across all pages, we acknowledge the following areas that may have limitations or are actively being improved:
- Third-party embedded content — some third-party tools, widgets, or embeds (such as scheduling tools, forms, or video players provided by external vendors) may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards. We work with vendors to address these issues and provide alternatives where possible.
- Legacy blog content — older blog posts published before our current accessibility standards were adopted may contain images without alt text or heading structure inconsistencies. We are working to audit and remediate this content.
- PDF documents — downloadable PDFs may not be fully accessible in all screen reader environments. If you need an accessible version of any document, please contact us and we will provide an alternative format.
We are actively addressing these limitations and update this section as issues are resolved.
